Pyret did have the choice of allowing reference equality forfunctions inside identical and erroring only in the other twocases. Had it done so, however, it would have violated the chain ofimplication above (A Hierarchy of Equality). The present designis arguably more elegant. Programmers who do want to use referenceequality on functions can simply embed the functions inside a mutablestructure like boxes.
